For years tourism has sold us an idealized image of tourist destinations. By 2019 , the problems caused by over-tourism have become very clear to many tour operators and administrators. In order to understand this situation and seek for possible solutions, the author travels to famous touristic destinations and talks to different stakeholders. In March 2020, COVID-19 arrived, tourism stopped, and the problems associated with tourism seemed to be gone. Have they really disappeared?
